The Golden Ring of Russia is an encyclopedia of the values of our rich country. This is a classic route for everyone who likes to learn new things, wants to get acquainted with architectural and historical monuments, who is not indifferent to Russian landscapes and wants to escape from the bustle of the capital, plunging into the leisurely and simplicity of a real Russian province.

Day 1. Jewels of Vladimir region

Meeting with your guide at hotel lobby.  Departure to Vladimir.


Tour of Vladimir - the ancient capital of North-Eastern Russia and one of the most visited cities of the Golden Ring of Russia: several amazing monuments of Russian medieval white-stone architecture have been preserved here. First of all attractions included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites: Assumption Cathedral, Dmitrievsky Cathedral and Golden Gate.

You will see the follwing sights of the 12th century:

  • Golden Gate (architecture) - a symbol of the greatness and power of Ancient Russia. They formalized the main entrance to the richest princely-boyar part of the city.
  • Dmitrievsky Cathedral is a monument of Vladimir-Suzdal architecture of the pre-Mongol period or Assumption Cathedral is a masterpiece of white-stone architecture. It is a unique treasury of Russian church art. The paintings of the 12th-19th centuries are preserved in it. The famous frescoes of the icon painter Andrei Rublev.
  • Museum "Crystal, lacquer miniature and embroidery" or the exposition "Old Vladimir" in a 4-storey tower in 1912 (tells about the city from the end of the 19th century - the beginning of the 20th century).


Departure to town Bogolyubovo. Excursion to one of the oldest Russian monasteries on Vladimir land - the Bogolyubovsky monastery: the chambers of Prince Andrei, the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin (interior).

Church of the Intercession on the Nerl (exterior) - according to weather conditions. It was located practically on the river “arrow”, making out the intersection of the most important water trade routes. This miracle, preserved from the 12th century, is called the Swan Temple.

Day 2. Cradle of the Golden Ring – Suzdal

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Sightseeing tour of Suzdal - a museum city, about 200 historical monuments, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The city is called the "glorious city of heaven" and the "cradle of the Golden Ring."

The Suzdal Kremlin is the oldest building in the city, which has absorbed its entire history starting from Vladimir Monomakh. According to archaeologists, the Kremlin was built in Suzdal already in the 10th century, despite this, all its main buildings have survived to this day, except for perhaps the protective walls and towers.

Visit to museum of Wooden Architecture with unique buildings from the 17-19th centuries. The museum is built in the form of a rural street with temples, residential buildings, mills, barns and other buildings transported from different villages of the Vladimir region.


After lunch departure toward Kostroma. On the way sightseeing tour in the city of Ivanovo. The city was known for the production of textiles since the XVII century. Since then, the city has been called the chintz region, and also the textile capital of Russia and, of course, the city of brides. It is the youngest city of the Golden Ring.


Arrival to Kostroma and accommodation in a hotel. Dinner in the hotel restaurant.

Day 3. Cradle of the Romanov imperial dynasty - Kostroma

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Sightseeing tour of Kostroma, which is the same age as Moscow, the oldest jewelry center and the largest port city on the Volga. Acquaintance with the merchant city, which has preserved the original appearance of the architectural ensemble of the 18th century.

You will admire the towering fire tower of the 19th century - an outstanding monument of classicism, the guardhouse building, get acquainted with the beautifully preserved ensemble of the Trade Rows, which have been functioning properly until now.


Kostroma is the cradle of the Romanov dynasty, because it was precisely in the Ipatiev Monastery of Kostroma that Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov was hiding from Godunov’s disgrace. The Ipatiev Monastery (Trinity Cathedral, tomb or chambers of the Romanov boyars) is the main symbol of Kostroma.


You will also visit to the Epiphany-Anastasia Monastery, where the miraculous icon of the Mother of God of Fedorov (13th century) is stored, which was painted around 1239 and glorified by great miracles and healings. This is the oldest work of icon painting in Kostroma has long been revered as the protector of the city and the guardian of the Romanov family.


After lunch departure to Yaroslavl. You will see the arrow of the Volga and Kotorosli rivers, the Assumption Cathedral, walk along the Volga embankment reconstructed by the 1000th anniversary of the city, see the unique architectural ensemble of the central part of Yaroslavl, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
A visit to the Transfiguration Monastery, which is the main city attraction. Due to fortified walls, it is called the Kremlin. The main cathedral of the monastery has preserved the original paintings, it is the oldest of the temples of Yaroslavl that have survived to our time. Here was found a handwritten list of a masterpiece of ancient Russian literature, “The Word of Igor’s Campaign.”

Day 4. Ancient cities: Rostov and Pereslavl-Zalessky

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Departure to Rostov the Great. The serene Lake Nero, strict and elegant monasteries, quiet streets and the majestic Kremlin help to break away from the bustle and touch the formation of Russia and Orthodoxy, live through the pages of chronicles and history books.


Excursion to the Rostov Kremlin with powerful walls with towers, in appearance it really resembles the Kremlin – an old Russian princely fortress, but in reality for a long time it was the Bishop’s Court – the residence of Rostov bishops and metropolitans. The Kremlin is decorated with the Assumption Cathedral (XVI century) with a unique belfry, on which a set of 15 bells is completely preserved, the Bishop’s Court, Cathedral Square.


Departure to Pereslavl-Zalessky. City was founded in 1152 by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky. Pereslavl is famous not only for its beautiful views and architectural masterpieces, many of which are almost 10 centuries old. For such a small town, it has an amazingly rich history. Prince Alexander Nevsky was born here, Pereslavl was loved and often visited by monarchs, and Peter I made the city the cradle of the Russian navy.

After lunch departure to Moscow. Transfer to the hotel, train station or airport.
